Eugene J. Aufiero, 84, of Camp Hill, died peacefully at home on February 8, 2010.
He was born in Glen Cove, Long Island, New York to the late Nicholas and Margaret (Annunziata) Aufiero.
He is survived by his wife of over 55 years, Joan (Kane) Aufiero; two daughters, Margaret Ostrom and husband Kerry of Naperville, IL; Anne Aufiero and partner Ami Levin; two sons, Peter Aufiero and wife Christa and David Aufiero, all of New Cumberland; two grandchildren, Sarah and John; and two great grandchildren, Sebastian and Sierra.
A Summa Cum Laude graduate of Catholic University in Washington, D.C., Gene was a Registered Professional Engineer, Registered Landscape Engineer and Founder/past President of Eugene J. Aufiero and Associates, Inc. of New Cumberland. He was a member of The American Society of Civil Engineers, Life Member; National Society of Professional Engineers; Pennsylvania Society of Professional Engineers; American Council of Engineering Companies of Pennsylvania. He was a naval aviator during World War II and a member of the Mechanicsburg Officers Club, Naval Support Activity. He was also a member of St. Theresa's Catholic Church, New Cumberland; Hershey Italian Lodge, Colonial Country Club and West Shore B.P.O. Elks #2257.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:30 pm on Saturday, February 13, 2010 in his church with the Rev. J. Michael McFadden as celebrant. Viewings will be from 6-8 pm Friday and 1-2 pm Saturday at Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
