Barbara Elaine Oberdorf, 82, of West Fairview passed away peacefully on April 1, 2010, following a very brief illness.

Born on May 9, 1927, in Bloomsburg, she was the daughter of Robert D. and Theresa N. Jones and was the widow of Ambrose N. Oberdorf, Sr.

She was retired from the former Stephenson's Flowers, Shiremanstown, where she enjoyed working in the greenhouses and garden stores.

Surviving are her sons and daughters, Traci Ann Oberdorf of West Fairview, Dawn Spoonhour and husband John of Wilmington, NC, Karen Oberdorf and husband Peter Sultatos of Dover, Wayne Oberdorf Sr. and wife Kathleen of Palmyra, Ambrose Oberdorf Jr. and wife Desdemona of Lewisberry; five grandchildren, Wayne Oberdorf Jr., Erich Spoonhour, Sara Spoonhour Modlin, Daniel Oberdorf and Erin Oberdorf; three great grandchildren, Aidan Spoonhour, Abigail Spoonhour and Davis Modlin.

Barbara lived well on her own terms and we miss her enormously. Sadly, this will end the iconic $10 birthday cards.

Memorial services will be held at 5 PM on Tuesday in Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, New Cumberland, with the Rev. Paul W. Baughman officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services in the funeral home on Tuesday.
