Barry F. Barkley Sr., 60, of Newberry Twp., Etters, went to be with his Lord on Thursday, April 8, 2010, at Penn State Hershey Medical Center, Derry Twp.
He retired as an employee of New Penn Motor Express, Camp Hill; a member of Holy Infant Catholic Church, York Haven; Teamsters Union, Local 776, Harrisburg; Carlisle Fish and Game. Barry enjoyed traveling the country in his R.V. and shooting skeet.
Born in Johnstown on November 11, 1949, he was the son of Dolores F. (Frick) Barkley of Johnstown and the late Lewis J. Barkley. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Lewis J. Barkley Jr.
In addition to his mother, surviving are his wife of nearly 40 years, Kristina M. “Tina” McNutt Barkley; a son, Barry F. Jr. of Mechanicsburg and his wife Jamie; a daughter, Kelly A. Whitefield of Etters and her husband, Richard; three brothers, Robert H. of Phoenix, AZ, Richard J. of Johnstown, and David J. of North Wales; a sister, Tracey M. Hipp of Johnstown; three grandchildren, Kyle R., Carter J. and Ava Caroline.
Barry was a loving husband and father, a proud grandfather and a devoted friend.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM on Tuesday in his church with the Rev. Edward C. Malesic as celebrant. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Holy Saviour Cemetery, York.
Viewing will be held 6 – 8 PM Monday in Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, New Cumberland.
