Nora Ann (Pitts) Roseberry passed away June 18 in the evening after a year of declining health. She was 88 years old. She passed peacefully at The Woods at Cedar Run, Camp Hill, PA. She leaves two sons Ronald D. Roseberry (Sheri) of Harrisburg, PA and Jeffrey L. Roseberry (Bernice) of Evanston, IL. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years Floyd Bradley Roseberry. Surviving her are 5 grand children and 18 great grand children
The daughter of Ernest A. and Emma (Carroll) Pitts, Nora was born in Okemah, OK in 1922. Raised on a farm with 8 siblings she learned many life lessons that served her well. She attended Excelsior H.S. where she played basketball. She met Floyd at 18 years of age while visiting an aunt in Tulsa. They had a whirlwind romance and eloped with Floyd’s younger brother as their witness. Being the war years they moved from one Air Force base to another. Nora was determined to be where Floyd was. Life long friends were made during those years.
Nora enjoyed being a homemaker, attending to her two boys and participating in their scouting, as a Den Mother and camping gear coordinator. She was an entrepreneur selling cosmetics from the home. A long time square dancer she and Floyd were members of Tumbleweeds in Tulsa, OK. Floyd’s work with the Post Office brought them many friends.
She attended Calvary Baptist church in Tulsa along with her family as they were growing up. In later years she was a member of Southern Baptist Church, Tulsa, before moving to Harrisburg, PA to be close to her son Ronald. She attended Living Water Community Church in Harrisburg.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday in Living Water Community Church, 206 Oakleigh Avenue, Harrisburg PA, with Pastor Mike Leonzo officiating. Nora will be buried next to Floyd in Memorial Park Cemetery, Tulsa.
