Bessie May Stone

Bessie May Stone, of Etters, died February 14th, 2018, at ManorCare Health Services – York North, on her 90th birthday.

She retired as an office manager from Variety Amusements, Mechanicsburg. She was also a Notary Public for over 55 years. Throughout the years, Bessie attended both Lisburn Church of God and Rossville Lutheran Church; she was a member of the OES Steadfast Chapter 479, Daughters of the Nile Chapter 52, and South Mountain CB Club. For fun, she enjoyed camping with her family and friends, and long motorcycle rides with her late husband.

Born on February 14th, 1928, in Warrington Twp., she was the daughter of the late Roman H. and Anna (Drake) Spahr. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Albert Stone, Jr.; and brother and sister, Leonard Spahr and Edith Schell.

Surviving are two sons, Marlin E. Stone (Norma), of Siddonsburg, and Dale S. Stone (Christine), of Felton; six brothers and sisters, Sarah Brownsberger, of Lancaster, Grace Dettinger, of Red Lion, Martha Miller, of York, Florence Deardorff (Russel), of Dover, Margaret Bierbower, of Shippensburg, and John Spahr, of Dover; five grandchildren, Lesa Arnold, Eric Stone, Doug Stone, Dale Stone, Jr., and Michael Stone; nine great grandchildren; and two great-great granddaughters.

Funeral Services will be held at 11AM on Tuesday, February 20th, at Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, with Rev. Paul R. Albert, Sr. officiating. Burial will take place immediately after the service at Emanuel Cemetery, Fairview Twp.

Viewings will be held from 6-8PM on Monday, February 19th, and again from 10-11AM Tuesday morning.
