Darnece Kaye Simmons

Darnece K. Simmons, 62, of New Cumberland, passed away Saturday, July 9, 2016 in her residence surrounded by her loving family and friends.

She was a former sales and marketing manager for AT&T and a member of First Church of God, New Cumberland. She enjoyed helping her neighbors by creating a safe, welcoming environment for the neighborhood children, making them feel safe and cared for. She had a very strong faith and deep love of God and Jesus.

Darnece was born in Pottstown and adopted by the late Rev. Preston C. and Effie A. (Sanders) Parthemer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter Nichole D. “Nicki” Simmons.

She is survived by her son Nicholas D. Simmons of New Cumberland; four siblings, Nancy Rosenberry and husband John of Manheim, Mary Baer and husband Ronald of Bethlehem, Sandy Bartel of Southlyon, MI and Bob Jones of Temperance, MI; three grandchildren, Vanessa, Leonna and Natasha; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Thursday, July 14, 2016 at First Church of God, New Cumberland, 323 Reno St. New Cumberland, PA with the Rev. Charles Zahora and Pastor Tim Wheeler officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service in the church.
