Hattie C. Mettler

Hattie C. Mettler, 78, a loving mother and grandmother, of New Cumberland, passed away Monday, April 29, 2019, at her home.

Born in Enola on August 15, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Berkheimer and D. Lorraine Kegris. She was the widow of George John Mettler III and was also preceded in death by her stepfather, Kenneth Kegris.

Hattie was a 1958 graduate of the former New Cumberland High School. She started her career in 1958 at the former Olmstead Airforce Base then transferred to New Cumberland Army Depot where she retired in 1993. During retirement she worked part time for Karns Foods for 13 years.

Hattie was an avid bowler and was a member of the Women National Bowling Association. She loved golfing, roller-skating, basketball and going out to dinner with her best friend, Vickie Weaver. She also loved spending time with family and friends especially her four grandchildren.

Surviving are a son and his wife, Kenneth G. and Sherry (Gent) Mettler of New Cumberland; a daughter and her fiancé, Lori A. Mettler and William J. Miller of Harrisburg; a sister, Bonnie Marie Spahr of Mechanicsburg; a step-brother, Kirk Kegris of Boiling Springs; four grandchildren, Tylor, Travis (fiancé Hannah), Michaela, and Makenzie; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am Friday at Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, New Cumberland, with the Rev. Michael McFadden. Burial will be in Rolling Green Cemetery, Lower Allen Twp.

Viewing will be held 10 - 11 AM in the funeral home.
