Louise Marie Heckman

Louise Marie (Caldarelli) Heckman, 63, of Mechanicsburg, passed away on Friday, June 14, 2019, in her residence, surrounded by her loving family.

Louise was an avid reader, nature enthusiast, and master gardener. Like her beautiful flowers, she nurtured others, creating a rich and purposeful life. A dedicated wife and mother, Louise was devoted to her family.

Louise had a passion for serving others and was known for her courage and grit. She was passionate in her work as a special education teacher with the Capital Area Intermediate Unit and the West Shore School District. Louise was an untiring volunteer with the Craighead House in Boiling Springs and the Cedar Cliff Wrestling Boosters, where she served on the board and worked in the snack bar for eight years. She was an enthusiastic supporter and team member of Relay for Life.

Louise was born in Harrisburg to the late Alfred A. and Genevieve (Ricci) Caldarelli.

She is survived by her husband of more than 39 years, John R. Heckman; her sons, John J. (Kaleena Chilcote) Heckman of Morgantown, WV and Thomas A. Heckman of Mechanicsburg; siblings, Mary K. Caldarelli of Shippensburg and Anthony A. (Megan) Caldarelli of Conneaut Lake, PA; sisters-in-law, JoAnn Powanda, Jamie Rickenbach, Jill Doebler, Janine Howe and Jody Bose; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, June 21, 2019, at Parthemore Funeral Home, New Cumberland. Viewing will be Thursday evening from 5:00-7:00 pm in the funeral home. Burial will take place in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Upper Allen Twp.
