Mary E. Barber

Mary E. Barber, 89, of New Cumberland, passed away Friday, February 09, 2018, at Geisinger Holy Spirit Hospital, East Pennsboro Twp.

She was a member of Baughman Memorial United Methodist Church, New Cumberland. She was a long-time Cub Scout leader, and she and her husband shared an avid interest in genealogy and spent much of their retirement years pursuing that. She also enjoyed knitting and many friends and family have and treasure the handmade Christmas stockings that she made for them over the years.

Born on March 27, 1928, in Sunbury, she was the daughter of Glenn E. and Mary M. (Sanders) Snyder. Mrs. Barber was the widow of Neil L. Barber. She was also preceded in death by a son in law, John D. Gageby.

Surviving are three sons, Richard N. Barber of New Cumberland, Terry L. Barber (Debra) of Harrisburg, and Steven G. Barber (Barbara) of Enola; a daughter, Cathy Gageby of Gettysburg; nine grandchildren; eight great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at Baughman Memorial United Methodist Church at 11 AM on Thursday February 15th with the Rev. Dr. Win Green officiating. Burial service will follow at 2:30 PM in Harmony Cemetery, Milton.

A viewing will be held at 10AM, one hour prior to the services in the church.
