Robert E. Lower

Robert E. “Bob” Lower, 89, of Fairview Twp. died Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at VibraLife, Mechanicsburg.

A Navy Seabee veteran of World War II, he was the founder and former owner of Lower’s Appliance in New Cumberland. He was a life member of American Legion Post 974 and VFW Post 7415, New Cumberland; The Mechanicsburg Club; and the former Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 382 in Steelton. There was nothing he couldn’t fix or do when he put his mind to it.

He was born May 31, 1927 in New Cumberland to the late Elmer E. and Mary Ann (Sutton) Lower.

He is survived by his wife of sixty-eight years, Jayne Marie (Bower) Lower; two daughters, Debra A. Casale (Ed) of Sterling, VA and Jayne L. Clark (Brian) of Natrona Heights, PA; two sons, Elmer E. (Jo) of Etters and Robert E. Lower, II (Denise) of Etters; a sister, Betty Gelegotis of Ellicott City, MD; eleven grandchildren; and sixteen great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of his Life will take place at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to the charity of one’s choice.
