W. Donald Allan

W. Donald Allan, 93, of Camp Hill, died June 8, 2019, at Geisinger Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill. Son of the late William John and Catherine C. (Case) Allan, he was born on January 1, 1926 in Camden, NJ.

Don was a graduate of Camden High School and later earned his bachelor’s degree from Haverford College (’51). He also served in the Army Air Corps during WWII. He retired from the Commonwealth as a computer systems analyst for the Department of Environmental Protection. He was a longtime member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Camp Hill. He was a past president of church council, taught Sunday School, served as assistant superintendent and was a member of the choir. He was a Boy Scout leader in his younger years and enjoyed camping, airplanes, sailboats and lighthouses – Don loved the outdoors. Family was paramount; he cherished the time he was able to spend with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Don is survived by his wife of 65 years, Joyce M. (Clippinger) Allan; three sons, William D., Jr. (Donalisa) of Manalapan, NJ, Douglas C. (Carol) of Corning, NY, and David S. (Tracey) of Midland, MI; a daughter, Marjorie J. Allan (Kenneth Krebs, companion) of Webster, NY; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Burial will take place in Rolling Green Cemetery, Camp Hill, on Thursday, June 13, 2019 at 9AM. Immediately following the burial will be a visitation at 10AM and a memorial service at 11AM at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Camp Hill.
