William R. "Bill" Pines

William R. “Bill” Pines, 63, of Camp Hill, passed away on Tuesday, January 1, 2019 in Penn State Hershey Medical Center, Derry Twp.

He was a contract manager with ITT Industries, Lancaster and a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Camp Hill. He was the clock keeper for Cedar Cliff High School basketball games, a former West Shore Soccer coach and in his youth played Susquehanna Lions Little League Baseball. But by far, the most important thing in life to Bill was spending time with his family.

Bill beat his cancer having been recently declared “cancer free”, but succumbed to complications from pneumonia.

Bill was born in Harrisburg to the late William S. and Joan (Harrold) Pines.
He is survived by his loving wife Karen Lauer-Pines; children, Ryan O. Pines and wife Lauren of Mechanicsburg, William R. Pines and wife Jessica of Enola and Kaelee I. Pines of Camp Hill; a sister Jeannie F. Brandt and husband Craig of Camp Hill; nieces and nephews, A.J. Byerly, Colin Brandt, J.L. Clarkson, Jason Clarkson, Jared LeGrand, Adam Lauer and Maggie Lauer; and his canine companions, Molly and Emerson.

A memorial service will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, January 5, 2019 in Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2000 Chestnut St. Camp Hill, PA with the Rev. Dr. Jack M. Horner, his pastor officiating. Visitation with the family will be from noon to 2 pm Saturday in the church.
