William R. Shaffer

William R. Shaffer, 88, of Dover died Saturday, February 2, 2019 at Manor Care Health Services, Camp Hill.

He was the owner/operator of the former Bill Shaffer Remodeling, Lewisberry. A past member of the Wellsville Riding Club, he took in and rehabilitated abused horses until homes could be found. He enjoyed traveling around the country.

He was born October 14, 1930 in New Cumberland to the late Vernon “Pete” and Florence (Carey) Shaffer.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Peterson Shaffer; two daughters, Kathy S. Daniel (Robert) of Altus, OK and Billene A. Sherbocker (Richard) of New Cumberland; two sons, Michael P. (Kay) of Etters and Randy R. (Deb) of New Cumberland; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family.
