Alice E. Bast

Alice E. Bast, 75, of New Cumberland, died Thursday, April 16, 2020, at Stonebridge Health and Rehab Center, Duncannon.

She was a member of the American Legion Post #143 Ladies’ Auxiliary, New Cumberland. Alice loved her family and enjoyed crocheting and made many beautiful afghans for family and friends. Born on December 28, 1944, in Hampden Twp., she was the daughter of the late Vincent and Manzella (Hoke) Poticher. Mrs. Bast was the wife of late Clarence E. Bast for 55 years. She was also preceded in death by two sisters.

Surviving are three daughters, Debra A. Smith (Ronald N. Sr.) of New Cumberland, Laura E. B. Becker (John L.) of New Cumberland and Tammy Bast of Mechanicsburg; a grandson, Ronald N. Smith Jr. (Kayla); two great grandchildren, Briella and Wyatt; seven brothers and sisters; many nieces and nephews.

Due to the circumstances surrounding the pandemic, a private graveside service will be held with a public visitation and memorial service to be held in the future when restrictions have been lifted. Please watch here for future service announcements.
