Arthur L. "Art" Shaffer Ii

Arthur L. “Art” Shaffer II, 77, of Mechanicsburg died peacefully at home on Sunday October 17th, surrounded by his family.

He was born in Harrisburg and grew up on the West Shore. He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur “Artie” Shaffer, Sr., by his mother, H. Joyce Shaffer, and by his brother, Larry D. E. Shaffer. He was co-owner of Shaffer’s Meats and retired from Karn’s as a butcher. He most recently enjoyed his time in retirement as a mentor/butcher with Chef Mills at Smoke and Pickles in Mechanicsburg. He was a member of DeMolay, a past State Master Councilor of DeMolay of Pennsylvania (1963-64), and was a life-time member of the Lowther Manor Lodge # 781, F.& A.M.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Patricia Anne (Holloman) Shaffer, his son Arthur L. Shaffer III (David Rowland) of Washington, DC, his son James M. Shaffer (Girija Shaffer) of West Chester, and his grand-daughters, Caitlin and Lauren Shaffer, and his grandson, Benjamin Trainor.

Graveside services will be held in Rolling Green Cemetery, Lower Allen Twp. at 11 AM on Saturday, October 30th, 2021 with a Masonic service being held at the beginning.

In addition to flowers, which he loved and may be sent to the house, memorial contributions may be made to the Masonic Foundation Charity, Office of Mission Advancement and Development, One Masonic Drive Elizabethtown, PA 17022 or Homeland Hospice, 2300 Vartan Way, Suite 270, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
