Barbara Ann (Sednek) Weller

November 18, 1935 — April 8, 2022

Barbara Ann Weller, 86, of Harrisburg, passed away on Friday, April 8, 2022 at Penn State Hershey Medical Center. She was the daughter of the late Andrew and Teresa (Parise) Sednek, born on November 18, 1935 in Harrisburg.

Barb was a 1953 graduate of Harrisburg Catholic High School, and she would go on to work at the Telegraph Press, Harrisburg until starting a family. She was a homemaker while her young family grew, but began working at Sears Credit Central, Colonial Park, as they got older. She worked there until the local office closed, but she would continue to get together monthly for breakfast or lunch with her former co-workers. She would also return to school, earning an Associates Degree in Elementary Education from HACC in 1976. Barb was known for sending greeting cards on any and all occasions; in fact, she had just mailed her Easter greetings this past week. She was a fabulous cook, but she may have enjoyed feeding people more than the actual cooking itself. Barb always had fun shopping, and Tai Chi at the Friendship Center, Harrisburg, was a staple in her life for years. She was a member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, Harrisburg, and always an exemplary model for her children and grandchildren. Barb loved being with her family, and the memories made together, especially on family vacations in Brigantine Beach, NJ or Bar Harbor, ME, were what brought her true happiness.

Surviving Barb is her husband of 65 years, Dale E. Weller; children, Marlene Weller Cosner (husband, Lyle) of Harrisburg and Craig Weller (wife, Jennifer) of Linglestown; and grandchildren, Allison Weller Nesbit (husband, Doug) and Brandon Weller. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her six siblings.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, Harrisburg. A viewing will be held the evening prior, Tuesday, April 12, from 6-8PM at Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, April 14 at 11AM in Shoops Cemetery Garden of Rest, located on the 4100 block of Locust Lane, Colonial Park.

In lieu of flowers, please feel free to make a donation in Barb’s name to a worthwhile charity of your choice.
