Bernice A. "Bernie" Schucker

Bernice A. “Bernie” Schucker, 87, of New Cumberland, passed away on Wednesday, April 29, 2020, at home, surrounded by family. Daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (Cominsky) Pautienus, she was born on April 5, 1933 in Gilberton, PA.

She grew up in Schuylkill County and went on to reside in New Cumberland for most of her life. Bernie spent her working years as a homemaker, raising children and tending to the house. She was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church, New Cumberland, and she was an avid Philadelphia Phillies fan.

She’s survived by her three sons, John E. Schucker of New Cumberland, Jerry E. Schucker (Jackie) of Bath, and Joseph L. Schucker of Marysville; a daughter, Ann Flury (Fred) of Steelton; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and her sister, Joan Carl. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ivan E. Schucker; her daughter, Linda Schucker; a grandson, Tracy Hipple; a son-in-law, Ted Hipple; and four brothers, William Pautienus, Joseph Pautienus, Robert Pautienus, and Edward Pautienus.

Due to circumstances surrounding the pandemic, a public visitation and memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held in the future once the restrictions are lifted. Please refer to this page for updated information.
