Beverly Jean Shimmel

Beverly Jean Shimmel, 81, of Fairview Twp., New Cumberland, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, April 7, 2018, at the Carolyn Croxton Slane Hospice Residence, Susquehanna Twp.

She retired as a Unit Secretary at the former Holy Spirit Hospital, East Pennsboro Twp.; a member of Fairview Brethren in Christ Church, New Cumberland, and she enjoyed spending time with family and friends and traveling. Born on July 30, 1936, in Fairview Twp., she was the daughter of the late David W. and Kathryn E. (Freysinger) Lambert. She was the widow of William R. Shimmel.

Surviving are two daughters and their husbands, Denise M. and Gary E. Rupp of New Cumberland, and Stacey A. and Daryl B. Fogle of New Cumberland; three brothers, Richard Lambert of Lewisberry, William Lambert of Lake Placid, FL, and Larry Lambert of Etters; five sisters, Gladys Sites of Middletown, Nancy Rovak of Middletown, Carol Hart of Sebring, FL, Judy Henry of York, and Sharon Lambert of New Cumberland; three grandchildren, Russell D. Rupp, Jeremiah S. Rupp, and Kathryn S. Greene; four great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Wednesday in Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, New Cumberland, with the Rev. Kenneth Keller officiating. Burial will be in Rolling Green Memorial Park, Lower Allen Twp.

Viewing will be held 6 – 8 PM Tuesday in the funeral home.
