February 28, 1956 — May 8, 2021

Brady L. Schaner, Sr., 65, of York Haven, Newberry Twp., passed away suddenly of a heart attack on Saturday, May 8, 2021 in his residence.

He was a Licensed Practical Nurse with Maxim Healthcare, York and a graduate of East Pennsboro High School and Harrisburg Area Community College Nursing Program.

Brady’s life revolved around his family, especially his children and grandchildren. Nothing pleased him more than sitting around the campfire with family. His children were his pride and joy and he was so proud of all their accomplishments and loved to brag about them. He worked tirelessly as an LPN and touched so many lives during his career. He was known for his big heart and his friendly, compassionate care for his patients.

Brady was born in Newcastle, PA, one of eight children, to the late William and Mary Catherine (Gallagher) Schaner.

He is survived by his wife of more than 40 years, Sandra D. (Ulsh) Schaner; children, Cassandra L. Kennedy (Brandon) of Carlisle, Katelyn A. Parisi (Staff Sgt. William) of York Haven and Brady L. Schaner, Jr. (Julia Rolla) of York Haven; siblings, William Schaner of Harrisburg, Mary McGaffic of Jefferson City, MO, Cheryl Schaner of Ft. Walton Beach, FL, Gretchen Williams of Ft. Walton Beach, FL, Terence Schaner of York Haven, Thomas Schaner of Greeley, CO and Robert Schaner; and five grandchildren, Azalea, Atlas, Onyx, Rhett, Jenna and the newest grandchild yet to arrive, baby Parisi.

A public viewing will be held from 2 – 4 pm on Friday, May 14, 2021 in Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland. Private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family.

Brady donated over 9 gallons of blood to the Central Pennsylvania Blood Bank. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that for those who are able, to please honor one of Brady’s great passions in life by donating blood; not just this one time, but as often as you are able. If you wish to make a monetary donation, please consider St. Jude’s Children Hospital as a way to honor his truest passion; his children, grandchildren and the special children he worked with.

He knew we loved him and we know he loved us. He will be so missed!
