Carlos Vazquez Ortiz

May 31, 1942 — August 6, 2020

Carlos Vazquez Ortiz, 78, of Fairview Township, passed away on Thursday, August 6, 2020 at home. Son of the late Pedro Vazquez Ortiz and Rosa Maria Ortiz, he was born on May 31, 1942 in Sabana Grande.

Born and raised in Puerto Rico, Carlos worked for and retired from Loctite Adhesives, Sabana Grande, PR. He just recently moved to the United States, living with his daughter and their family for the last five years of his life. When he was younger, he played all types of sports; he enjoyed playing softball in his prime, and enjoyed watching baseball and WWE wrestling throughout his years. When Carlos wanted to unwind, he’d visit Hollywood Casino, playing table games or betting on the horses. Knowing he liked casinos, his family would take him to many different locations throughout Pennsylvania. In the end, he did not require much to keep him busy and content, dancing and dominos were two of his favorite pastimes. Carlos lived a full life. His family, both in the U.S. and Puerto Rico, will miss him greatly.

Carlos is survived by his wife of 55 years, Maria Rivera Cordero; his children, Lizzie, Susy, Charlie and Mary; his grandchildren, Mikey, Jerry, Jose Carlose, Charlene, Jamilette, Andy and Lisbeth; great-grandchildren, Caramia, Vincent and Jose Jandriel; siblings, Mercedes, Gladys, Elsa, Peter, Tunie, Andre, Annie and Miriam; and many nieces, nephews and extended family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three siblings, Yinco, Rosa and Lorenzo.

Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
