Caroline T. Previc

Caroline T. Previc, 101, of Camp Hill, formerly of Penn Hills, passed away Thursday, March 25, 2021 at her home surrounded by family.

She received Pennsylvania Senate and House Citations honoring the celebration of her one hundredth birthday. She was a lifelong resident of Pennsylvania and served as an au pair, housekeeper, and community gardener during the Great Depression before working as a dental assistant from 1938 to 1947. Mrs. Previc assisted her husband with operating Previc’s Shop Rite Supermarket for nearly forty years, which is lauded as the first modern grocery store in the Pittsburgh metropolitan area. Active in her community, she served as Den Mother for the Girl Scouts of USA and a member of a local parent-teacher association and the Slovene National Benefit Society. She enjoyed reading, cooking, and gardening. She won the respect of her many family members, friends, neighbors, and acquaintances who came to know and admire her.

She was born October 16, 1919 in Manor, PA to the late Martin and Frances (Dular) Kukovich. She married Frank J. Previc on October 13, 1947 and they shared fifty-nine years of marriage prior to his passing.

She is survived by her sister Alma Woodhouse, her children, Francine Morrison and husband Douglas, Thomas Previc and wife Dorothy; grandchildren, Keith Previc, Christopher Previc, Ashley Morrison Soldan and husband Thomas, and Christina Morrison; and great-grandchildren, James and Emily Soldan and many much-loved nieces and nephews.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
