Celeste Rose Lenington

November 21, 1919 — January 22, 2016

Celeste Rose Lenington, 96, of Lemoyne, passed away Friday, January 22, 2016 in her residence surrounded by her loving family.

She was the Credit Manager for the former Caplan’s in Harrisburg. She was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church, New Cumberland; a former secretary at Trinity High School, Camp Hill and the office of Dr. Nae H. Park, Enola; and was a former volunteer at Holy Spirit Hospital, East Pennsboro Twp. She had a sense of humor and drew happiness from the life that she shared with others. Her joy was her family and devotion to her church.

Celeste was born in Waterloo, KS to the late Mathias and Mary (Clasen) Horsch and was the widow of Earl E. Lenington, Sr.

She is survived by a son Earl E. Lenington, Jr. and wife Rebecca of Mt. Gretna; three daughters, Carolyn M. Thompson of Lemoyne, Nancy K. Showers of Mechanicsburg and Diane R. Markley and husband Christopher of Lewisberry; a brother Matthew Horsch of Wichita, KS; a sister Maryetta Fowler of Gretna, NE; twelve grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am on Friday, January 29, 2016 in her church, 1300 Bridge St. New Cumberland, PA with the Rev. Tariq Isaac as Celebrant. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, West Hanover Twp., PA. There will be no viewing or visitation.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions be made in Celeste’s name to Homeland Hospice, 2300 Vartan Way, Suite 115, Harrisburg, PA 17110-9794.
