Charles B. "Bub" Reynolds

March 20, 1944 — February 1, 2022

Charles B. “Bub” Reynolds, 77, of Fairview Twp., passed away on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at his residence. He was the son of the late Clarence A. and Geraldine O. (Thomas) Reynolds, born on March 20, 1944 in Churchtown, PA.

Charlie focused on his work and his family throughout life, while entertaining and enlightening all those he would encounter along the way. Bub met his future wife, Lorrie, at Hickey’s Drive-in on the Carlisle Pike; on their first date, he told her he would marry her. Charlie would spend 37 years with PA American Water Co., retiring in plant maintenance in 2007. He was a great storyteller, and his wit was razor sharp. He was engaging and easy to be around, and he loved nothing more than watching others, especially family, succeed in whatever they set out to do. He taught the younger generations how to hunt, and he spent as much time as he could at the family’s Hillside Ten hunting camp in Sinnemahoning, PA. The only other place that provided equal joy was atop a tractor or other piece of farm equipment. From sunup to sundown, Charlie tended to hundreds of acres of farmland; crops primarily consisted of hay, wheat, oats and corn. He got his hands dirty and broke a sweat every day, and he thought sports were a complete waste of time. But he wasn’t one to judge; his motto of “hakuna matata” resonated in the way he treated others and carried himself, always focusing on the positives in life. His grandchildren were the highlight of his golden years, and family time of any sort brought him happiness. The last eight years were difficult on Bub health-wise, but his family continued to take him to camp multiple times a year despite his challenges. His family will greatly miss their role model, ultimate handy man, hunting partner, and patriarch.

Surviving Charlie is his wife of 57 years, Lorrie L. (Shultz) Reynolds; two sons, Charles A. “Chuck” Reynolds (Angela) of Mechanicsburg, and Keith A. Reynolds (Christine) of New Cumberland; grandchildren, Samantha Reynolds (Devin), Matthew Reynolds (Becky), Dalton and Logan Reynolds, Keesha Wolfe and Shanlee Stough; a great-grandson, Dean; four siblings, Carl Reynolds (Carol), Glenda Rudy, Donna Bishop (Paul) and Arlene Myers; and many nieces and nephews. Charlie was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Reynolds; and a daughter-in-law, Mary Stough.
