Christopher Kyle Wyche

November 10, 1961 — September 14, 2021

Christopher Kyle Wyche, 59, of New Cumberland, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at his residence. The son of the late Clarence L. and Leona M. (Schieb) Wyche, he was born on November 10, 1961 in Washington DC.

Chris began his schooling in Franklin County at Scotland School for Veteran’s Children. He transferred to East Pennsboro High School for his 10th grade year and graduated in 1979. His favorite subjects were History and Government, about which he remained passionate throughout his life. He was an avid reader, movie buff, and video game aficionado, which may explain how he knew the answers to every question when watching the game show Jeopardy. Chris early on saw the opportunity in computers and information technology. He parlayed his natural high intelligence, quick mind, and easy-going personality to turn himself into an IT guru with a knack for solving knotty problems and explaining things in terms easy to understand. Chris was employed at Crump in Harrisburg since the early 1990s where he was appreciated for his wide knowledge of finance and insurance, his helpfulness, and his contributions to the company’s success. His family remembers that he was reliable, always there if needed – without question – and with no expectation of anything in return. His generosity to those in temporary need, regardless of situation, meant an open door; one often learned of visitors who were “staying just a little while” at his home.

He and his beloved son Ian also enjoyed being constantly outsmarted by their lovable and loyal mutt, Bear. Growing up in the era he did, Chris found the evolution of video games fascinating and played them all this life. What he did best was make those around him comfortable, often making them laugh with his timely, hilarious quips and one-liners. He will be greatly missed.

Surviving Chris are his son, Ian Christopher Wyche of Denver, CO; stepdaughter, Theresa Claire Logan of Dillsburg, PA, and four step-grandchildren; sisters Pamela Schnieder of Lykens and Kimberley Oldham (Ralph) of Millersburg; brothers David Wyche (Suk Hui) of Mechanicsburg and Randolph Wyche of Millersburg; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers-in-law, John Schnieder and Merle Mace.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 6PM on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland. A public visitation will take place from 4PM until services begin in the funeral home.
