Clifford B. Stricker, 83, of Mechanicsburg died Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at The Gardens at Stevens, Denver, PA.

An Army Veteran of the Vietnam War and was severely wounded. He survived being shot 4 times by a sniper. After recovering he was the Director of Disabled American Veterans (DAV) of the Pittsburgh office. While director he started a wheelchair basketball team called the Steelwheelers that is still going strong today. He also started the Forgotten Warriors Project in Pittsburgh and Erie,. He wrote the law for the DAV for the Disabled American Veterans license plate that is still in use today. He was President of the Order of Guild which represents National Service Officers across the country for the DAV.

He was born November 19, 1936 in Charleston, WV to the late Michael and Faye (Garton) Stricker. He was preceded in death by his son Clifford and brother Michael.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Louise Stricker; two daughters, Cheryl Y. McCreary (Brett) of Mechanicsburg and Taryon Fae Stricker of Arlington, VA; a son, Gary D. Stricker of San Diego, CA; two sisters, Nancy Eggleston and Marilyn Lilly both of of Haslett, MI; six grandchildren, Page, Ryan, Alexa, Amanda, Savannah, and Dakota; and five great-grandchildren, Mallorie, Reese, Stella, Brock, and Hazel.

He will be greatly missed by many. He was a man of great integrity and always put others first and would help anyone that that needed it. His goal in life was for everyone to be happy.

Graveside services with military honors will be held at 11am Friday, October 9, 2020 at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Hanover Twp.
