Dana M. Kirkland

Dana M. Kirkland, 75, of Mechanicsburg, passed away on Monday, January 24, 2022 in Penn State Health Holy Spirit Medical Center, East Pennsboro Twp.

He was the owner/operator of Cardinal Greeting Card Company and earlier in his career, worked with Stroehmann Bakeries for twenty-five years. He was a graduate of Cedar Cliff High School and a parishioner of St. Theresa Catholic Church, New Cumberland. He was very passionate about attending and watching sprint car races. He also enjoyed traveling, selecting destinations that included a favorite lighthouse he wanted to view or tour. But more than anything, Dana loved his family.

Dana was born in Harrisburg, the son of the late Louis and Marguerite (Robinson) Voggenreiter.

He is survived by his loving wife of more than 39 years, Lydia (Keel) Kirkland; children, Valerie L. Homer and husband Barrett of Fairmont, NC, Vanessa L. Voggenreiter of York, PA and Kurt R. Alandar and wife Jessica of New Cumberland, PA; his brother Kurt E. Voggenreiter and wife Cynthia of Dillsburg; five grandchildren, Michael, Zachary, April, Olivia and Addisyn, a great grandson Xander and several nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am on Monday, January 31, 2022 in St. Theresa Catholic Church, 1300 Bridge St. New Cumberland, PA 17070. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
