David E. Brandt

David E. Brandt, 60, of Middletown, formerly of Shiremanstown died Thursday, January 12, 2017 at Holy Spirit Hospital.

He was a 1974 graduate of Mechanicsburg High School and 1978 graduate of Millersville University earning a degree in Elementary Education and Special Education. David’s most obvious characteristic was his generous heart and love of working with children with special needs. He was a loyal, loving son who cared for his parents during their final years of life. David loved spending time with his niece and nephews, frequently traveling to watch them play baseball and soccer. He was an avid Philadelphia Sports fan and enjoyed watching Penn State Football with his father.

He was born July 21, 1956 in Harrisburg to the late Robert E. and Dr. Nancy Lee (Tipton) Brandt.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Stephen Kent Brandt.

He is survived by a sister, Jacqueline B. Maddison of Voorhes, NJ; niece, Diana of Voorhes; two nephews, Benjamin of Wenonah, NJ and Jonathan of Philadelphia.

Graveside services will be held at 11:30am Wednesday in St. John’s Cemetery, Shiremanstown.
