David L. Snyder

September 3, 1960 — April 7, 2022

David L. Snyder, 61, of New Cumberland, formerly of Elizabethville, passed away on Thursday, April 7, 2022 at home.

David was a Human Resource Business Partner with GIANT Foods, Carlisle for more than 25 years. He was a member of Market Square Presbyterian Church in Harrisburg, where he was a tenor in the church choir. David was an accomplished musician, and enjoyed traveling with his family, drinking red wine, and bike riding with his wife.

David was a predictable man in the best ways; he was steadfast in his commitment and loyalty to his family. He was a devoted father and husband, who always assured that the gas tanks and coffee pot were full, the dishwasher was emptied, and the trash was at the curbside.

David loved his daughter Haley tremendously and stood by her while she fought leukemia several years ago. His daughter Mallory is an audiologist, and her dad was her favorite patient.

As recent empty nesters, David and his wife, Nancy, enjoyed planning their upcoming retirement, which included trips and volunteer work. In addition to his own accomplishments, he was proud of the successes of his wife, children, and family. He greatly admired his son-in-law, Michael, and dearly loved the family dogs. He could always be spotted in a quarter-zip sweater, was known for his “dad jokes”, and for keeping the family abreast of the news.

David will be sorely missed by his family and friends; the grief caused by his passing is immeasurable, which is a testament to his character, his love, and his kindness.

David was born in Harrisburg, the son of the late Lee V. and Helen Irene (Lebo) Snyder. In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by a sister Lisa Lamancusa.

He is survived by his wife of more than 35 years, Nancy (Tornblom) Snyder; daughters, Mallory Snyder Dance (Michael) of Pittsburgh and Haley Elyse Snyder of Baltimore; sister Angela Alexander (Jeffrey) of Mt. Joy; a niece and four nephews, and the family canine companions, Rowan and Ralphie.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 on Saturday, May 21st at Market Square Presbyterian Church, Harrisburg. Visitation with the family and refreshments will immediately follow the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions in David’s memory to Nick’s House: Headstrong Foundation, 232 Green Ave, Holmes, PA 19043.
