Dick F. Shatzer

Dick F. Shatzer, 88, of Carroll Twp., Dillsburg, died Monday, November 7, 2016 at Claremont Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Middlesex Twp.
He retired as a Supervisor for the Commonwealth of PA, Dept. of Labor and Industry, Harrisburg; an Air Force veteran of the Korean War; a 1946 graduate of the former St. Thomas Twp. High School; a life member of the N.R.A. and an avid sportsman; a member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), Lemoyne; V.F.W. Post 537, Etters and American Legion Post 143, New Cumberland. Born on August 5, 1928, in Edenville, Franklin County, he was the son of the late Chester B. and Louella B. (Diffenderfer) Shatzer. He was also preceded in death by a son, Richard L. Shatzer and two sisters, Lorraine Evans and Leona Sites, and a brother, Theodore Shatzer.
Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Constance Stepler Shatzer; two sons, Randall R. of Dillsburg, and Roger F. and his wife, Shelly, of Mechanicburg; a daughter-in-law, Sherrie Shatzer of Mechanicsburg; a sister, Victoria McClain and her husband, Paul, of Greencastle; five grandchildren, Brook, Karissa, Kiara, Kaeli and Kodi; three great grandchildren, Emmie, Hayden and Luna.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Saturday at Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, New Cumberland with the Rev. D. Marie Tribble officiating . Burial with military honors will be in Tri-County Memorial Gardens, Newberry Twp.
Viewing will be held one hour prior to services in the funeral home.
