Donna M. (Schaffner) Pearson

April 28, 1971 — January 25, 2021

Donna M. (Schaffner) Pearson, 49, of Camp Hill, passed away on Monday, January 25, 2021 at Penn State Health Holy Spirit Medical Center. She was born on April 28, 1971 in Harrisburg.

She lived in Middletown and Elizabethtown, with a brief stay in Highspire in between, all the while growing up to become the best older sister ever to her siblings. She graduated from Elizabethtown Area High School in 1990, where she had fond memories of playing with the marching band, and later received an Associate’s degree from WVU Potomac State College where she studied music and played the flute.

As an adult, she spent several years working in banking and was most recently a Branch Banker at BB&T, a division of Truist Corporation. When she wasn’t at work, she enjoyed reading, crafts, visiting the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire, and had a love of Scooby Doo from the time she was a child.

A lifelong music lover of all genres, it was rare to find Donna without some kind of music playing (or her singing along). Her skills were on display when she sang with the choir at Christ Presbyterian Church in Camp Hill, where she was a member and participated in many of the activities they offered.

Donna is survived by a community of much-loved family and friends. Among them are her parents, Donald and Lorraine (Cover) Schaffner; her husband, Michel (Mike) Pearson, whom she met in 2001 and married on October 13, 2018; step-daughters, whom she loved as if they were her own, Christina Dunmire (Mike), and Heather M. Keller (Chris); granddaughter, Rachel Dunmire; great-grandson, Marcus Hamor; her sister, Michelle Matthews (Larry); her brother, Don (Jacquie); her nieces and nephews, Nicholas Lilli, Erika Lilli, Kara Matthews, Gavin Matthews, and Orin Schaffner; her uncles and aunts, Ed & Amy Cover, Willis & Pam Cover, Harvey & Chris Schaffner, Melvin & Linda Schaffner, Ricky & Betty Morrison, Noreen Bowers, Charles & Bonnie Moyer, Thomas Chatterton, Jeanne Chatterton, and Frank & Marcy James; several cherished cousins; and her father-in-law, Stanley Pearson. Donna will also be missed by her cat, Treasure.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Benjamin & Dorothy (Kope) Schaffner, and Harold Chatterton & Faye Arlene Cover; her uncles, Will Chatterton and Dave Chatterton; and her mother-in-law, Norma Elaine Pearson.

To borrow from the song, “I’ll Be Seeing You”: We’ll be seeing Donna in all the old familiar places that this heart of ours embraces, all day through. We’ll find her in the morning sun and when the night is new. We’ll be looking at the moon, but we’ll be seeing her.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 24, 2021 from 2-5PM at her church, Christ Presbyterian Church, 421 Deerfield Rd, Camp Hill, PA 17011. Please drive to the far end of the building – the fellowship hall is easily accessed from the rear parking lot.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Donna’s name to the Humane Society of Harrisburg Area, 7790 Grayson Road, Harrisburg, PA 17111.
