Dorothy (Dolly) L. Jones, 96, of Hampden Twp., formerly of Pittsburgh, passed away peacefully Saturday, January 7, 2023, at Country Meadows of Mechanicsburg, Hampden Twp.

She graduated from Langley High School in 1943. She married in 1948, and became a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She and her husband maintained a lifelong relationship with friends from high school that were referred to as “the gang”. She worked at Sheraden Bank prior to graduating high school, later she worked as the men’s department manager at the former W. T. Grants, Crafton, until its closure and continued her career at the Hallmark Store. Her faith was an important part of her life. She was an active member in her church teaching Sunday School and volunteering in the Ladies’ Aid Society at the Ingram United Presbyterian Church and later participating in the Sunseters at the Eberly’s Mill Church of God. She and her husband were also volunteers for Meals on Wheels. Other interests included traveling, bargain shopping, bowling, playing cards and occasional trips to the casino. One of her greatest joys was spending time with babies and children of family and friends some who saw her as another grandmother. She was loved dearly by family and friends who referred to her as kind, sweet and some describing her as an angel. She will be deeply missed.

Jones and was also preceded in death by her son, Richard Jones, daughter, Carol Jones, grandson, Aaron T. Beck, great grandson, Anderson Beck, and sister and brother-in-law, Lois and Bob Sterner.

Surviving are her daughter, Diane E. Beck and husband Carl of Camp Hill; grandchildren and their spouses, Lauren and Roger Riegel, Dawn Nimal, Jessica Beck, Laura Beck; and sister and brother-in-law, Donna and Jim Nieman of New Cumberland. She was also a loving aunt to her many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Eberly’s Mill Church of God, 115 Creek Road, Camp Hill, Pennsylvania 17011.
