Dorothy L. Sullivan

December 4, 1941 — August 5, 2020

Cancer has robbed us of the life and laughter of Dorothy L. Sullivan, who passed at home in New Cumberland, surrounded by her loving family on August 5, 2020.

Dottie was unsinkable, unstoppable—an all-around force of nature, and we are better for having her in our lives.

Born in 1941 in Lansdowne to the late George M. and Gladys M. Willi, she was preceded in death by her sister, S. Jane Uber; her stepson, Stillwater Rose; and the love of her life, husband Thomas P. Sullivan. She worked at Penn Mutual Life Inc. and Consumer’s Life Insurance Co., and retired as the office manager for Pikulin Chiropractic. She was a 36 year member of Camp Hill United Methodist Church, a member of the Highland Women’s Club and the Altrusa Club of Harrisburg, a member of the Lower Allen VFW Post 7530, and a volunteer with Helping Hands Ministry.

Surviving are two daughters, Sherry L. Goehring (Joe) of Mechanicsburg, and Sandy L. McDonald of Mechanicsburg; four grandchildren, Dorie L. Goehring, Molly L. Goehring, Jamie L. McDonald, and Tyler J. McDonald; a stepson, Timothy A. Rose (Patty) of Elliottsburg; a step-daughter-in-law, Robin Rose of Newport; a sister-in-law, Iris L. Coady of Harrisburg; a sister, Nancy Sadler (Michael) of Florida.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. A public celebration of Dottie’s life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, (www.shrinershospitalsforchildren.org/Philadelphia) 3551 N. Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA 19140, in memory of Dottie, whose father was a Shriner in Philadelphia and Harrisburg.
