Edward O. Kyler

Edward O. Kyler, 90, of Lower Allen Twp., passed away Wednesday, December 23, 2015 in Holy Spirit Hospital, East Pennsboro Twp.

He was retired from Rite Aid Corporation, Shiremanstown and formerly owned and operated Kyler’s Atlantic and ARCO Station, Mulberry St., Harrisburg. He was a WWII Army Paratrooper with the 101st Airborne Division making 10 combat jumps including Operation Market Garden, the Battle of the Bulge, and the D – Day Invasion. He also was privileged to have a chapter in the WWII book titled, “In Their Own Words”. He was a true patriot who remained active serving local veterans causes and organizations and marching in parades. Ed was a member of VFW Post 7415, New Cumberland and was an avid Cedar Cliff High School basketball and football fan.

He was born in Chambersburg to the late Therbert and Helen (Weller) Kyler and is survived by his sons, Stacy Kyler and wife Bonny of Camp Hill and Vincent Kyler of Camp Hill; two granddaughters, Jennifer Kyler of Camp Hill and Jodi Clymans and husband Kris of Mechanicsburg; and three great grandchildren, Andrew, Matthew and Katie.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 in Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland with the Rev. Dr. Jack M. Horner officiating. Viewing will be from 10 – 11 am Wednesday in the funeral home. Burial with military honors will be in Rolling Green Cemetery, Lower Allen Twp.
