Elaine R. Powley

Elaine R. Powley, 72, of Harrisburg, passed away Monday, June 22, 2015 in Harrisburg Hospital.
She retired from Dauphin County Vocational Technical School with more than 25 years of service and was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Harrisburg. She enjoyed her Pinochle club, reading, the beach and gardening, but her greatest passion was spending time with her family.
Elaine was born in Easton, MD to the late Theodore Norman and Marie Helen (Phoebus) Hulliger and was preceded in death by her stepfather, Thomas B. White, and her brother, Charles T. Hulliger.
She is survived by her husband of more than 53 years, Paul M. Powley; children, Thomas P. and wife Vicki of Harrisburg, Kymberly A. Snoke and husband Donald of Gardeners and Jason C. Powley of Harrisburg; siblings, Ronald J. Hulliger and wife Sherry of Seaford, DE; nieces, Stacy Teffeau and husband Tim of Seaford, DE and Rachel Orr and husband Forrest of Chapel Hill, NC; grandchildren Samantha, Christina and Chelsey; great granddaughter Isabella Rose; and great nephews Daniel and Wesley.
Funeral services will be held at 4 pm on Friday, June 26, 2015 in Calvary United Methodist Church 4700 Locust Lane Harrisburg, PA 17109 with the Rev. R. Jeff Fisher officiating. Viewing will be one hour prior to service time in the church. An additional viewing will be held on Monday from 10 – 11 am in Short Funeral Home, 13 East Grove St. Delmar, DE 19940. Burial in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Laurel, DE will immediately follow this viewing.
