Frank Bennett

Frank Bennett, 56, of Harrisburg, and formerly of New Cumberland, passed away Saturday, August 20, 2016 in Pinnacle Community General Hospital, Harrisburg.

He was born December 11, 1959 in Philadelphia to the late Frank and Elizabeth (Cassidy) Bennett and moved to the Harrisburg area in 1967. A graduate of Cedar Cliff High School and Penn State, he was a retired Licensed Nursing Home Administrator for more than thirty years serving the elderly in PA at Frey Village, Middletown, Colonial Park Care Center, Harrisburg, and facilities in Huntingdon, Chambersburg and Philadelphia.

His caring and compassionate nature, his humor, love of family and warmth will be forever missed. He had a joke or funny story and a bear hug ready for his family and friends. Frank loved the movies, especially science fiction. In a Western movie, he would always be the guy in the white hat. If he was your friend – you were family to him. He liked to play golf and followed the Phillies, Eagles and PSU football.

He is survived by his sister Rosemary (Bennett) Tamanini and her sons Christopher and Kevin Tamanini and their families, all in Pittsburgh; his brother Terence and wife Deborah of Mechanicsburg and their daughters Karen, Lisa and Susan and their families; and his sister Kathleen Bennett of New Cumberland and her daughters Laura and Jacqueline. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a nephew James Hanawalt.

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 pm on Saturday, August 27, 2016 in Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland with Chaplain Ellen Doughty officiating. Viewing will be from 2 – 3:30 pm Saturday in the funeral home. Private committal services will be held at the convenience of the family.

The family respectfully requests that there be no flowers. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to New Hope Ministries, West Shore Center, 5228 E. Trindle Road Mechanicsburg, PA 17050.
