George T. Peacock

November 28, 1931 — October 7, 2022

George T. Peacock, 90, of Lewisberry passed away peacefully at home on Friday, October 7.

An Army Veteran of the Korean War, he was a retired Field Engineer from Verizon. He was a member of Bell Telephone Pioneers, a former member of Fairview Twp. Planning Commission, and a former Cub Scout Leader. Most importantly, he was an elite member of the OP Group.

Born November 28, 1931 in Williamsport to the late George T. and Mary (Kohler) Peacock, Sr, he was the adoring husband of the late Mary Alice (Sennett) Peacock, who was undoubtedly the love of his life. May 31st of this year would have been their 70th wedding anniversary.

George and Mary Alice enjoyed many adventures together, traveling domestically for many summers. George was proud to have visited all 50 states. Together, they made countless memories with family and friends at their home-away-from-home in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. George enjoyed a number of hobbies throughout his life but made sure to never miss their 4p.m. happy hour. His closest friends knew him as a bit of a trickster, with most stories ending in a room full of laughs. In the last few years, George and Mary Alice relished their monthly luncheons and card games.

Family was paramount to George and there was never a shortage of gatherings for holidays and celebrations with his children. He and Mary Alice adored their grandchildren and could always be found in the stands of a sporting event or school concert. Since their birth, his great grandsons brought him endless joy.

George is survived by his children, Leslie G. Leach (Dick) of Lemoyne, T. Michael Peacock (Karen) of Eugene, OR, Jeffrey L. Peacock (Kathy) of York Haven, Ann Marie Hubbard (Don) of Etters; two granddaughters, Holly C. Gibson (Josh Gibson) and Maggie Leigh Hubbard (Vaughn Leff); six step-grandchildren; and Great Pop-Pop to Torrey Abraham Gibson and Benjamin George Gibson.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, PA Keystone Chapter, 1501 Reedsdale Street, Suite 105, Pittsburgh, PA 15233.
