Gino Camplese

Gino Camplese, 85, of Enola, passed away on Tuesday, August 23, 2022 in UPMC Pinnacle West Shore Hospital, Hampden Twp.

He was a retired fabricator with Stewart Amos Steel, Harrisburg with more than 52 years of service to the company. Gino immigrated from Italy in 1957 and his first job in the United States was washing cars at his uncle’s Fiat dealership. After that, he was co-owner with his brother and brother-in-law of VNG Restaurant in Harrisburg before starting with Stewart Amos.

Gino was born in Farindola, Pescara, Italy, the son of the late Fiorindo and Erminia (Francescone) Camplese.

He is survived by his wife of more than 48 years, Joan (Bitner) Camplese; son Christopher A. Camplese of New Cumberland; siblings, Valerie Garisto (Vito) of Harrisburg and Nicola Camplese of Oldsmar, FL; and grandchildren, Elisabeth and Carter Camplese.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Monday, August 29, 2022 in Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland with the Rev. Michael Messner officiating. Viewing will be from 10 – 11 am Monday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Mechanicsburg Cemetery.
