Harry Bruce Fritz, 95, formerly of Camp Hill, PA, passed away on Sunday, August 5, 2018 in the Lebanon VA Medical Center, South Lebanon Twp., PA.
Born in Pine Grove, PA and a graduate of Pine Grove High School, he was the son of the late Bruce and Lillian Fritz. A U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, he served as a Staff Sergeant on a Bomber Crew in the 15th Air Force. Shot down during his mission in 1944, at Ploesti, Romania he was a prisoner of war in Bucharest, Romania. He was awarded the Air Medal and the Prisoner of War Medal. He was a life member of Disabled American Veterans, Capital City Chapter American Ex-Prisoners of War, Conestoga Chapter American Ex-Prisoners of War and National American Ex-Prisoners of War.
Mr. Fritz retired from Mechanicsburg Naval Supply Depot. Additionally, he was a landscaper for many years. Mr. Fritz was a 58 year member of The Camp Hill United Methodist Church and a past member of the church’s Fidelity Class.
His wife, Lillian R. Fritz, now deceased was married to Harry for 69 years. He is survived by his daughter Judy Keim; his twin sister Betty Long; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services with military honors will be held at 10:30 am Thursday, August 9, 2018 in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, East Hanover Twp.
