Harry Morton Bolger

Harry Morton Bolger, 87, of Lewisberry, PA, passed away peacefully in the presence of his family on Friday, October 29, 2021.

He was born May 5, 1934 in Palmer, Massachusetts to the late James C. Bolger and Loretta (O’Connor) Bolger.

Harry was a United States Air Force Veteran of the Korean War and a licensed pilot. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal. Before he entered the Air Force, he was employed at age 17 as a telegrapher by the Boston and Albany Railroad in Springfield, Massachusetts. Harry worked for several years in the truck leasing industry in New Jersey. After marriage, Harry and his family moved from River Edge, New Jersey to the Harrisburg, Pennsylvania area in 1962 as Sales Manager with Kay Truck Rentals. Harry attended Farleigh Dickenson University in Teaneck, NJ with a major in Business Management. Harry was an avid reader, enjoyed bowling, golfing and sailing, and enjoyed traveling with his wife. Harry and Ruth sailed the Chesapeake for 24 years. Harry was also a member of the VFW and a Freemason in the West Shore.

Harry was known for his love of family, great sense of humor, affability and willingness to help anyone in need. He was an animal lover and was especially fond of his beloved dog, Cosmo.

He is survived by his wife of more than 67 years, Ruth H. (Gildersleeve) Bolger; sons, Roger Wilkinson (Chris) of New Cumberland, Brian Bolger (Deborah) of New Cumberland and Scott Bolger (Roberta Montemayor) of Lewisberry; six grandchildren, Andrew, Shannon, James, Kate, Kayleigh and Jake; and five great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Harry’s Life will be held at 11 am on Saturday, November 13, 2021 in Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to service time in the funeral home.
