Isabel E. Snyder

February 17, 1928 — March 6, 2023

Isabel E. Snyder, 95, of Camp Hill, passed away on the evening of Monday, March 6, 2023 at Country Meadows, Mechanicsburg. She was the daughter of the late Russell and Nettie (Smith) Elicker, born on February 17, 1928 in New Cumberland.

Isabel was a 1946 graduate of New Cumberland High School, and she would remain in Central PA all her life; raising her children and giving the time she could to her church. She was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Camp Hill, and was active in many ways, including her time with the altar guild. She was an unbelievable baker, spoiling her family and neighbors with amazing cakes, bread and cookies (especially around the holidays). For decades, Thursday nights were for playing bridge, and she would volunteer her time to read to the kids at Camp Curtin. She was a loving mother to her boys, and her tender heart extended to the love she had for animals, especially dogs, cats and birds. In later years, her grandchildren would become the source of her joy, and she thoroughly enjoyed watching them grow and excel in life.

Surviving Isabel are her two sons, Clay Snyder (Daria Snyder) of Mechanicsburg, and Jason Snyder (Jen Moran) of Camp Hill; and grandchildren, Cooper Williams, Landon Snyder and Larissa Snyder. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Gene, Jay and Clare Elicker; as well as her former husband, Carl W. “Pete” Snyder, Jr.

A private memorial service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, Camp Hill, with inurnment following in the church’s columbarium.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please consider making a donation in Isabel’s name to Lifesong Hospice, 3880 Tecport Drive, Suite 2, Harrisburg, PA 17111, or at www.lifesonghospice.com.
