James R. Grove

February 15, 1949 — January 3, 2021

James R. Grove, 71, of Fairview Twp., New Cumberland, passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2021 in Harrisburg Hospital.

He was a retired pipefitter with Plumbers/Pipefitters Local 520, Harrisburg and a US Army veteran. Jim was a member of American Legion Post 974, Fairview Twp. and VFW Post 537, Etters. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, tying jigs, gardening, caring for his dogs and cat, and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. But more than anything, he enjoyed spending time with his family. Family meant everything to him.

Jim was born in Harrisburg to the late John and Mary (Krone) Grove, Sr.

He is survived by his wife, Charmayne K. (Berg) Grove; children, Tanya Zeigler of Waxhaw, NC, Jessica Hartman of Elizabethville, PA, Joshua Grove of Etters, PA and Matthew Grove of Lewisberry; and nine grandchildren, Tucker, Jordan, Austin, Barbara Ann, Matthew, Joshua, Jaxson, Oliver and Hudson.

Graveside services with military honors will be held at 1:30 pm on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, East Hanover Twp., PA. There will be no viewing or visitation.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions in Jim’s memory be made to the donor’s local American Legion post.
