Jane Louise Hartzell

October 16, 1936 — March 25, 2021

Jane Louise Hartzell, 84, of New Cumberland, died Thursday, March 25, 2021, at Select Specialty Hospital, Harrisburg.

Born on October 16, 1936 in Harrisburg, she was the daughter of the late Donald G. and Mary L. (Strode) Hench. She was the widow of Richard V. Hartzell.

During Jane's younger years, horses were her passion. She was an avid equestrian and had numerous trophies to show for it. Jane loved animals of all kind. Even the wild bunnies, squirrels, and birds were her pets.

In Jane's later years, cooking became her passion. She would often make enough of her fantastic dishes to share with her friends and her wonderful and caring neighbors. This also followed through with Jane's numerous waitress jobs over the years. She enjoyed this because she loved serving good food and ensuring the customers were happy with it.

Surviving are three daughters and a son, Betty Little (Bill) of Etters, Dee Egenrieder of Enola, Donnie Noll of Harrisburg, and Nita Bishop of Collegeville; three grandchildren, Brandy Defeo, Melanie Caulfield, and Shannon Weldon; two great grandchildren, Alessandra and Grayson.
