Jeffrey M. Nace

June 10, 1963 — August 9, 2022

Jeffrey M. Nace, 59, of Enola, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 9, 2022 at his residence. He was the son of John A. Nace Sr. and the late Margaret (Shadow) Nace, born on June 10, 1963 in Camp Hill.

Jeff grew up in northern York County, graduating from Red Land High School in the early 1980s. Before beginning his career, he spent time working at Sholley’s Motorcycle Shop, Lewisberry, where his love for motocross began. From there, he would spend 33 years with Purina Mills, Camp Hill, where he was still employed as a forklift operator in the warehouse’s loading and unloading department. He was a hard worker all his life, averaging six 12-hour workdays per week for most of his employment.

Despite his long hours, Jeff made time to be with his family, supporting them in their endeavors and providing what they needed. He shared his love of motocross with his kids, working with Jason for multiple hours a day during his youth. In contrast, his girls’ riding days were short-lived; after one of them wrecked, Jeff decided the girls should look for hobbies elsewhere. But this was a fitting reaction from a protective and loving father. He enjoyed interrogating and striking fear in the poor souls who attempted to date his daughters throughout the years, and his stubbornness was an ever-present quality. An avid bow hunter, he would obsess over trail cam footage, knowing “the one” was still out there. In truth, Jeff had all he needed. Fridays were dinner nights with his girls and grandchildren at Ashley’s house, and Sundays were reserved for family get-togethers at his dad’s. He checked in on his father each and every day, and he made multiple calls a week to his kids; he cared deeply for each member of his family, and they felt that love. For these reasons and many more, Jeff will truly be missed.

Surviving Jeff are his children, Jason Nace of Mechanicsburg, Amanda Lubnow of Mechanicsburg, and Ashley Zimmerman (husband, Jared) of Lemoyne; two grandchildren, Madelyn and Elliott; his father, John A. Nace Sr. of New Cumberland; brothers, Kenneth Nace of New Cumberland and John Jr. of Lewisberry; many nieces and nephews; a brother-in-law, Donald Barlup; and someone he thought of as a son, Ryan Snyder of Shippensburg. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Steve Nace and Carol Barlup.
