John C. Lesniewski, D.O.

Dr. John C. Lesniewski, D.O., 89, of Mechanicsburg, passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2016 in LifeCare Hospital, Mechanicsburg.

He was a retired Pediatrician with Community General Osteopathic Hospital, Lower Paxton Twp. Dr. Lesniewski enjoyed playing sports, watching football, fishing with his sons, gardening, traveling, boating and snowmobiling; but his greatest love in life was his family.

Dr. Lesniewski was born in Buffalo, NY to the late Joseph and Victoria (Zawadzki) Lesniewski.

He is survived by his wife Donna J. (Dubray) Lesniewski; daughter Cathy L. Hiebert of Mechanicsburg; four sons, John L. Lesniewski of Edgewater, MD, Jack G. Bannister of North Beach, MD, J. Tuhl Bannister of Stafford, VA and J. Clayton Bannister of Erie, PA; a sister Mary Ann Medwid of Detroit, MI; thirteen grandchildren and twenty-six great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 1pm on Monday, May 9, 2016 in Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions be made in Dr. Lesniewski’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memorials & Honors Program, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
