Josephine A. "Jo Ann" Szollosy

Josephine A. “Jo Ann” Szollosy, 67, of New Cumberland, died Saturday, February 1, 2014, with her daughter and son in law by her side at Penn State Hershey Medical Center, Derry Twp. after a courageous battle with Burkitt’s Lymphoma.
She retired as a Medical Program Technician for the Commonwealth of PA, Dept. of Public Welfare, and following her retirement, she worked part time cleaning homes in the greater West Shore area. She was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church, New Cumberland. Born in Shenandoah Heights, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Laura (Pukas) Melcavage. She was also preceded in death by two brothers.
Surviving are a daughter and son in law, Audra M. (Szollosy) and Thomas J. Spilewski of Lemoyne; two sisters, Catherine Galitsky of New Cumberland, and Carolyn Peters of Lemoyne; an aunt, Christine Pukas of Frackville; a nephew and several nieces. Jo Ann also leaves behind her constant companion, a cat named Phoenix.
Memorial services will be held on Wednesday at 11 AM at Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services in the funeral home.
