Juliana (Geiger) Boyer

June 27, 1926 — May 5, 2020

Juliana (Geiger) Boyer, age 93, formerly of New Cumberland, PA, transitioned into eternal life in the home of her loving daughter, Deborah on Tuesday, May 5, 2020. Julie was born on June 27, 1926 in Steelton, PA to the late Gabriel J. Geiger Sr. and Julia (Grubic) Geiger.

She was predeceased by her loving husband of almost 56 years, Richard F. Boyer Sr; and her siblings, Gabriel Geiger, Jr and Dorothy Dodaro. Juliana is survived by her three children, Cynthia Freeman (Jan), Deborah Boyer (John Foley), and Richard Boyer, Jr (Meg). Julie is also survived by seven grandchildren, Leah Freeman, Samantha Sullivan (Christopher), Tyler Freeman, Jessica Boyer, Matthew Foley (Zanna), Megan Hershey (Nate), and Patrick Foley; as well as nine great-grandchildren, Jack, Benjamin, Scotlyn, Sofia, Lillian, Trent, Fox, Wesley, and Joel.

A graduate of the former John Harris High School and Central PA Business College, she was retired from National Cash Register Co. She was devout in her faith and attended Second United Church of Christ in Harrisburg, serving as a kindergarten Sunday School teacher for many years. She was also a long-term member of The Order of the Amaranth, holding numerous offices and portraying their virtues of Truth, Faith, Wisdom, and Charity. In addition, she spent many post retirement years serving as a volunteer in the emergency room at Holy Spirit Hospital in Camp Hill, PA.

Juliana was full of life and joy and especially loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed traveling, singing and dancing, and helping others. She will be remembered for her beautiful smile, and her kind and generous soul.

A memorial service for family was held at Parthemore Funeral Home, New Cumberland, PA on Saturday, May 9, 2020. Interment followed in Rolling Green Cemetery, Camp Hill. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Joy’s House Adult Day Services, 2028 E. Broad Ripple Ave., Indianapolis, IN 46220.
