Kathleen J. Kaercher

Kathleen J. Kaercher, 87, of Upper Allen Twp., Mechanicsburg, passed away Friday, July 24, 2020.

She retired as a longtime employee of the West Shore School District. Kathleen was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church, New Cumberland. She was an incredible loving and caring person, she was tough but soft, she worked hard and loved her family with all her heart. If help was ever needed you didn’t need to ask as she was just there, ready to lend a hand and it did not matter what it was. She was truly a role model and we were all blessed to have her in our lives.

Born on December 25, 1932, in Steelton, she was the daughter of the late George J. Mettler Jr. and Mary A. (Bentz) Masters. She was the widow of Donald J. Kaercher and was also preceded in death by two brothers, George J. Mettler III and Elwood Baker.

Surviving are a son and his wife, David L. and Adrienne Kaercher of Etters; three daughters and their husbands, Maryann and Frank Reasner of Carlisle, Cecelia D. and Michael Bachman of Mechanicsburg, and Kathy A. and Greg Burkett of York Springs; brothers and sisters, Rosemary Langley of Carlisle, Frank Mettler of Carlisle, Patricia Fuchs of Camp Hill and Beverly Lilley of New Cumberland; eleven grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am on Wednesday with the Rev. Kyle Sahd as the Celebrant. Burial will be in Rolling Green Cemetery, Lower Allen Twp.
