Kay Bricker

March 23, 1940 — March 25, 2020

Kay “Nanny” Bricker of New Cumberland, PA left this world and entered into her Savior’s presence on Wednesday, March 25, 2020. She was 80 years old.

Kay was born in Girardville, PA on March 23rd 1940. She was preceded in death by her father, Albert O’Shura, her mother, Alice (Zembas) O’Shura, and also by her loving husband of 56 years, Ed “Pops” Bricker, who left us on January 20, 2018.

Kay is survived by her two daughters, Jody Nazzaro (Michael) and Karen Zvorsky. She was blessed with seven grandchildren, Ashlee Krall (Dave), Gina Nazzaro Yetter (Mike), Carissa Nazzaro, Elliott Keys, Trae Keys, Caleb Keys, and Anya Zvorsky. Kay also adored her eight great-grandchildren; Ella Keys, Addison Krall, Valerie Elliott, Traycen Hawthorne, Melanie Elliott, Ronan Yetter, Landon Krall, and Kingston Keys.

She’s also survived by her beloved dog of 14 years, Maddie.

Nanny was a proud homemaker who was very strong in her faith. She was truly the Matriarch of the family; she was the strength, the hope, the love, and guiding presence for us all. She loved a good game of cards, playing bingo with her friends, and Saturday yard sales. She always had a strong opinion and words of advice for everyone; but above all, her family was everything to her. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren meant the world to her. This was often demonstrated by proudly showing our pictures to everyone she met. There were cards for every occasion, multiple daily phone calls, and Happy Birthday songs that will be sorely missed. We will continue to carry out our family traditions with mom and dad in mind – their absence has taught us to appreciate these small things even more.

Due to COVID-19 social distancing restrictions, there will be a small private service on Monday, March 30th, 2020 at Rolling Green Cemetery in Camp Hill, PA.

The family will have a celebration of Kay’s life in the near future when social distancing restrictions are lifted.

“Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.” -- Isaiah 43:1-2
