Laureda W. Smith, 97, of Bethany Village, Lower Allen Twp., and formerly of Camp Hill, died Friday, August 29, 2014, at the Village.
She retired as an employee for the Commonwealth of PA, Dept. of Transportation; a member of Grace Ev. Lutheran Church, Camp Hill; P.A.R.S.E. and a former member of the New Cumberland Woman’s Club. Born on March 11, 1917, in New Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late William and Gertrude (Hagerman) Fetrow. She was the widow of Samuel J. Smith and was also preceded in death by three sisters and a brother.
Surviving are a son, Samuel J. Smith Jr. (Joann) of Etters; a daughter, Linda M. Smith of New Cumberland; a brother, William Fetrow of Willow Valley; a sister, Doris Cavanaugh of Lower Allen Twp.; a granddaughter, Lindsey Smith-Griffin.
A memorial service will be held at 2 PM on Thursday at Bethany Village West, in the West Education Room in the Maplewood Neighborhood (Door 21). The family will receive friends following the memorial service. Private burial will be held in Rolling Green Memorial Park, Lower Allen Twp.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are respectfully requested to Grace Ev. Lutheran Church, 1610 Carlisle Road, Camp Hill, PA 17011, or to the Bethany Village Care Assurance Fund, 325 Wesley Drive, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055.
