Letty P. (Martin) Eichelberger, 101, formerly of Lemoyne, New Cumberland and Schuylkill Haven, passed away on Friday, February 15, 2013 in Schuylkill Center, Pottsville.
She was born in Newville, PA to the late James and Lila (Neff) Martin. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers, Allen, Irvin and Lester Martin.
Letty and her husband, Paul R. Eichelberger enjoyed a marriage of over 56 years until the time of his death in 1986. They lived in Lemoyne and then moved to New Cumberland. She was active in the First Church of God, New Cumberland where she sang in the choir and taught Sunday School. She has been grateful for the communications from her church family even after moving to Schuylkill Haven. She worked for some years as a bookkeeper and assisted her husband, Paul in his insurance and real estate businesses. As an activist in the community, she was a Girl Scout leader, served the VFW Auxiliary as a member and Past President, volunteered in many capacities and was talented in the culinary and fiber arts.
She is survived by a son Jerald P. Eichelberger and wife Marilyn of Rochester, NY; two daughters, Mardee A. Nordberg and husband Dr. E. David of Surry, ME and Susan E. Czarick and husband John P. of Schuylkill Haven who lovingly shared their home with Letty for over 24 years in New Cumberland and Schuylkill Haven; a sister in law Erma Martin; and is adored by her grandchildren, Susan McHenry, David Nordberg, Lisa Searl, Eric Nordberg, Erika Stone, Tara Josefiak, Sara Eichelberger, Sharon Martucci, Karen DelGaudio, Joseph Barris, Amy Sadusky, Jennifer Kulikosky, John D. Czarick and Christopher Czarick; and 18 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 in Parthemore Funeral Home Cremation Services, New Cumberland. Visitation will be one hour prior to services Tuesday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Rolling Green Memorial Park, Lower Allen Twp.
